For the first time ever the American Red Cross of Martin County is hosting the highly anticipated Ocean to Lake Ride 2010. The Ocean to Lake ride has been around for many years and is a well known cycling event that was put to a hault because of the hurricanes in the past. The Martin County Red Cross is glad to bring back a Treasure Coast cycling tradition. The ride starts at sunrise along the beautiful coastline of Jensen Beach Florida and rides through the undisturbed woods and wetlands to Lake Okeechobee.
Red Cross Riders 2010 welcomes anyone who wants to participate! This is the first year we are offering 3 different routes which are sure to fit every riders level. Bring out the family for a Family Fun Ride that offers 3 different levels depending on age. We encourage you to challenge your inner cyclist with a Round trip 100 mile ride, Metric Century (62 miles), or a 35 Great to Be Alive! Ride. This is a round trip ride.
All riders will have the option to start the race off with an assortment of bagels, fruit, coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice from Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice! After the ride you are sure to have worked up a large appetite, that’s why we have partnered with Carrabba’s Italian Food to provide a full spread lunch at Jensen Beach! You won’t leave feeling hungry - trust us!
Throughout the ride you will be accompanied by Red Cross volunteers, who are fully trained and ready to help you. Physicians Immediate Care will be our official Medical Provider of Red Cross Riders 2010.
Enjoy the ride - we have scheduled THEMED rest stops that will keep you amused throughout the ride. Will provide bathrooms, power drinks, bars, snacks and water.
